Sandy Buchanan (Senior Advisor, UK)

Sandy is an accomplished management consultant with 30 years experience as a technical director and operations / project manager. Sandy’s professional experience includes appointments with Ministry of Defence, National Museums of Scotland, SCRAN and University of Edinburgh, and he has also undertaken a number of important consultancies in UK and Europe. Sandy brings to SBG Advisory extensive strategic ICT, mapping and organisational transformation experience. He has undertaken a full range of services for clients including strategy crafting, project planning and management, operational management and implementation of digital systems development and integration. Sandy engaged with EDINA at the University of Edinburgh focusing on development of a Mobile Internet Program (MIP) involving development of apps and improved software applications and building appropriate skills within the organisation. His work raised the profile of EDINA with potential users at the University as an incubator for leading edge technologies.

Sandy holds a Masters of Business Administration from University of Edinburgh, a BSc (Hons) from University of Aberdeen in Geography and a Graduate Diploma in Photogrammetry from University College London.

Sandy believes that improved digital access using increasingly sophisticated systems is transforming the way in which creative industries influence organisations across sectors world wide.
