Melbourne Recital Centre

SBG Advisory was appointed to perform early stage master planning for the development of this significant performing arts project. We collaborated with the client executive and Board of Directors to establish a formative business model that informed capacity requirements, functionality and scope, which led to a business case with options for development of infrastructure solutions.

We represented the client throughout the project initiation and design development phases of this chamber music facility comprising a 1001 seat Dame Elisabeth Murdoch chamber music grand hall and intimate salon that opened to world acclaim in 2010. The chamber music hall continues to be regarded by artists, technicians and patrons as a venue that delivers to the highest acoustic performance standards.

SBG Advisory is proud to have been associated with the development of this important arts / cultural infrastructure project in collaboration with foremost Australian firm ARM Architecture, renowned acoustician Sir Harold Marshall of Marshall Day Entertech, and Arup engineerng.
